What Is a Commode?
In India these terms usually mean the same product: a western toilet or English toilet seat that you sit on, as opposed to an Indian squat toilet. A toilet commode is the whole ceramic unit. The commode seat is the hinged seat and lid on top. Every Lorazzo commode ships with its seat and lid, so you don’t need to buy one separately.
One-Piece Toilet vs Two-Piece Commode
A one-piece toilet has the tank and bowl moulded as one ceramic unit. A two-piece has a separate tank bolted to the bowl.

S-Trap vs P-Trap Commode: Which Fits Your Bathroom?
The trap is how the commode’s outlet meets your drain. An S-trap commode drains down through the floor. A P-trap commode drains horizontally into the wall. The two are not interchangeable without changing the plumbing.

How to check before you buy: look at your existing toilet. If the waste pipe goes into the floor, you need an S-trap. If it goes into the wall, you need a P-trap. For S-trap models, also measure the distance from the finished wall to the centre of the floor outlet (the rough-in). This is 225 mm (9 inches) on the UNO and White Walker.
Wall-Hung (Wall-Mounted) Commode vs Floor-Mounted
A wall hung commode, also called a wall mounted commode, is fixed to the wall and sits above the floor, with the flush tank concealed inside the wall. A floor-mounted commode stands on the floor.

Rimless vs Rimmed Commode
A rimless commode has no hollow lip under the bowl’s top edge. Water is directed through a flush channel instead, leaving fewer hidden surfaces to clean. Lorazzo’s Martell is rimless. The other models use a rimmed design, with the Tyrell using a boxrim.

How to Choose a Commode
- Check the trap type. Floor outlet means S-trap. Wall outlet means P-trap.
- Measure the rough-in. For S-trap models, measure wall to outlet centre and compare with 225 mm.
- Measure the space. Allow for the full length, for example 620 to 660 mm on one-piece models.
- Pick the flush and rim. Siphonic flush gives strong clearance, and a rimless bowl is easier to wipe.
- Plan the budget. Wall-hung installs need the in-wall frame and cistern on top of the commode price.
